“The Bible is free from error in its original manuscripts.” The Bible always tells the truth about everything it talks about. This definition does not mean that the Bible tells us every fact there is to know about any one subject, but it affirms that what it does say about any subject is true.

The word “Bible” is the English form of the Greek word “biblia” which means “books.” The term “Bible” began to be used in the 5th century as a shorthand way of referring to the “Library of Divine Revelation.” The Bible consists of 66 different books, written over 1,600 years, by over 40 authors in 3 different languages.

“Thus says the Lord” appears 420x in NASB! When the prophets say, “Thus says the Lord,” they are claiming to be messengers from the sovereign King of Israel, namely, God Himself, and they are claiming that their words are the absolutely authoritative words of God.
