Making Disciples

Posted by & filed under Uncategorized.

Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He gave His church her marching orders:  “make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Mt.28:19-20). We at the Bridge are serious about obeying this command of our Lord.  We believe that it is every believer’s responsibility to make disciples.  We believe that making disciples happens best in community. Therefore, we will form missional communities for that very purpose.  A missional community is a small group of believers that exists to reach a specific people with the gospel. They meet weekly to live life together and disciple one another, but also to pray and plan as to how they will reach their people with the gospel. They also write a 1 year covenant together detailing how they will radically reorient their lives for the purpose of bringing the gospel to those people they believe God is sending them to.
