Our Mission

Posted by .

Every church must know why it exists. Jesus has called us to His mission. We see this mission in the Great Comission of Matthew 28:18-20 – “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” We do not have the liberty to invent or create our own mission. Jesus, our King, has already clearly spelled out what our mission is.

We have intentionally tried to keep our Mission Statement solidly Biblical and yet exceedingly simple at the same time.

Our Mission is to glorify God by making disciples who make disciples.

At The Bridge we believe that unless we are making disciples (followers of Jesus), we have no reason to exist. Therefore, if you visit us and find out that we are not about making disciples, please gently rebuke us and call us back to the reason Jesus called us into existence.

We don’t exist to isolate ourselves from the world, with all its sin, depravity and pain. We don’t exist for ourselves, our comfort, our security, so that we can have a nice, clean, safe, pain free life. No, God has called us into existence to bring Him glory by making disciples of Jesus, and equipping them to make other disciples of Jesus.

We believe that if we are faithful to obey this mission, we will make disciples, equip new leaders, and plant new house churches. Our desire is to see a family of reproducing house churches emerge in the Greater Sacramento area. When that begins to take place we will gather in clusters of house churches monthly, and the Pastors of each house church will meet weekly to challenge one another, study the Word with one another, pray for one another, and encourage one another.  That’s what we long to see God do. We’re not there yet, but we are praying and laboring toward that end.

So, how are we going to get there?  We encourage all members of The Bridge to be regularly involved in our Sunday House Gatherings to develop their spiritual life, our mid-week discipling relationships and our Evangelistic Outreaches to saturate our city with the gospel and make disciples.

If you long to see that vision become a reality, please consider joining with us!

    Hello,
Is there any of your groups in Kansas. I’ve been a Christian most of my life. And after study and learning from others, I believe that the Protestant “church service” is a bad hold-over from the Catholic church. I’m looking for a group of Christians that want to have a church meeting as was taught by the bible and Paul’s epistles.
Are there any of your groups that meet in Kansas?
Thank you for your help. God bless.

Hi Carl, I’m sorry I am just now seeing your note. NO, I’m sorry, we don’t have any house churches in Kansas. I’ll pray that the Lord will help you find other like-minded believers in Kansas.
